SMS reminder pilot for school-based apprentices and trainees

From September 2026, the Apprenticeship Office will pilot SMS reminders for school-based apprentices and trainees across Western Australia. The reminders will help students and training contract parties stay informed about important apprenticeship and traineeship matters, including training plans and how to continue training post Year 12.

You may be eligible for a portal account if you are:

a current or former apprentice or trainee;
an owner or staff member of a business that employs a current or former apprentice or trainee;
working for a registered training organisation that currently delivers training to apprentices or trainees; or
working for an Apprentice Connect Australia Provider who is managing active Western Australian training contracts.

Apprentices who have successfully completed a training contract in Western Australia can have their trade certificate verified via the Online Trade Certificate Verification function.

Where the training contract details entered match Apprenticeship Office’s records, a result will be displayed. Please note that a verification result will not be available for apprentices who have chosen to opt-out of this service.

Generate trade certificate softcopy/training contract extract
If the original trade certificate is destroyed, lost or stolen, you can request a digital copy of your trade certificate or an extract of your training contract by logging into your WAAMS portal account which will be automatically sent to the email address associated with your account.

If you do not have a WAAMS portal account, click the ‘Request an account’ tab.
